Welcome to the textbook for IST 432.
This textbook was created by Marc Friedenberg and Anthony Pinter with support from Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology through a Innovation in Teaching grant.
Signing up for Hypothes.is:
- Go to internetlaw.ist.psu.edu. Make sure to use Safari or Chrome.
- In the top right corner there should be an arrow. Click the arrow.
- Click “sign up” in the top right corner.
- Use your PSU ID (i.e. atp136) as your username, and use your PSU e-mail address for the e-mail.
- Go to this link to join the group: https://hypothes.is/groups/VYnrjnkW/ist-432-sp-2016, and enter your Hypothes.is log-in if prompted.
- Go back to internetlaw.ist.psu.edu.
- Click on the arrow in the top right corner.
- Make sure you’re logged in, and click the arrow next to “public”.
- Change your group to “IST 432 SP 2016”.
- You’re now ready to annotate!
Using Hypothes.is to annotate the case brief:
To highlight something, highlight it with your cursor, and click the pen and line icon that appears.
To annotate something, highlight it with your cursor, and click the speech bubble.
To see what annotations have been made, click the arrow in the top right corner.
To hide highlights, click the eye in the top right. To show highlights, click again.
To make a general comment, click the speech bubble in the top right.
